How to care for your UV lamps
We want you to get the most out of our UV lamps; here are our top tips for taking care of them:
1. Always wear latex gloves when handling the lamp.
2 . Clean the lamp with isopropanol wipes before placing it into the UV system.
3. Regularly clean the inner quartz sleeve that the lamp sits in to avoid the build-up of contaminants.
4. Ensure the UV system is clear of all external contamination.
5. Once the power has been turned off, allow the lamp to cool for 5 minutes before handling it.
6. Ensure lamps are running at the correct electrical specification.
7. Avoid excessive starts as this can cause premature aging due to the electrodes throwing off tungsten into the lamp.
8. Ensure the lamp’s exhaust pip is not aligned with the UV sensor, which will distort the UV reading.
9. Check that the electrical connections are tight and not corroded
10. Ensure the system and lamp chamber are completely dry before installing the lamp
